Bremma heading off to do the purchasing of a lifetime!
By Emma: Wow! We did it! We are the proud owners of a tandem limousine! She’s a beaut! Still nameless (thanks for the suggestions so far though) we paid in cash and rode away! And we haven’t stopped smiling. Bugs in the teeth indeed. It’s all quite surreal!

With Brock at Cambie Cycles, Vancouver
Super excited for out first photo shoot with the bike!
A bit of a wobbly start, but my faith in Brendon proved well measured and with every km we rode, the synchronicity of our balance grew. I say faith as my legs are right out there blazing a trail on this bike, and so I have to trust that Brendon sees the same dangers I do, and I just have to keep peddling. And the few pot holes we hit today, I think a seat-belt would not go astray (Tari!). I got a bit air borne several times on the front. And with a close shave to an opening car door already tested, we are keen to connect the Hornit ASAP. That is on the list with many other tinkerings that need to be tinkered and tomorrow is the day for all of that.

Wow! Look at our new bike!

Bren getting acquainted
We hit MEC big time and got almost everything on our list! I think we spent almost 4 hours in there which is definitely a record shopping effort for Brendon.
We have so much thanks to share with everyone for supporting us with donations through our Pozible and our paypal accounts. We don’t know what we would have done without your kindness & generosity. It took away the stress of all the spending today knowing that we had your support. When we were handing over the cash for the bike, we felt your hands on our shoulders giving us a squeeze. It was a truly great feeling, and we can’t thank you all enough. It was a lot of fun shopping for all the essential gear too, and huge lovings to everyone for the gift cards & donations through our wish list. I think all our wishes have come true! The only ‘luxury’ item we bought was a portable washing machine! (Mum & Chez you would be so proud) It’s basically just a dry bag with a rough surface inside, but as we are not travelling with a bucket, I had to add it to the shopping basket. Although Brendon assures me that it is a luxury item, despite the fact that we are only taking 3 pairs of underwear each.

Bremma’s first test ride!
So we rode home from all this shopping with our panniers loaded, and will spend the morning creating a packing regime (yes, a regime). Then back to the bike store in the arvo for some tightenings and to collect some more spares, and back to MEC to pick up the tent. A 40km round trip and its all part of the ‘practise’. So for those of you who have been asking “how is the training going?” We can now officially answer “Bloody beauty mate!”
Special mention lovings to Richard at Allegro Bikes in Melbourne for supplying us with the Awesome Ortlieb panniers. That are TotallyAmazing, and so are you!

Umm exsqueeze me, I really only have two words for you Bremma – how many???
“Yes that’s right and it seems Bob, that we have new information coming into the studio right at this moment” Looking away, he puts his hand to his ear while listening intently to an update being relayed through his ear-piece.
“They are saying ‘2 people, 1 bike’! I mean, I don’t know if I am hearing this correctly but …..” His voice trails off as he fiddles with his ear-peice again “They are! They are saying ‘2 people, 1 bike!'”
So going on the suggested theme I think you can look at this another way and head towards conjoined twins. Therefore your newly beloved member of Bremma should be Tocci as in the Tocci twins (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giacomo_and_Giovanni_Battista_Tocci)!!
Told ya about the seat-belt. It’s a very sound investment, I’d say!
